Visitor Presentation - Southern Valley Alliance, Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Christie with Southern Valley Alliance presented to the Council recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 

Southern Valley Alliance served 89 victims in Chaska in the last fiscal year. They answer over 2,000 calls on their crisis line annually. They provide services in crisis intervention, emotional support, resources and safety planning. They partner with local law enforcement, social services and healthcare providers to make Scott and Carver Counties a safer place to live. You can learn more about SVA on their website svamn.org.

Visitor Presentation - Oak Ridge Conference Center Update

Susan Elzy and consultants from Oak Ridge introduced themselves to the Council and shared their security plan, along with their intent to reopen the property as a hotel.

Public Hearing - Approved Service Charges for the 2026 Chaska Downtown Special Services District

The Council approved the 2026 service charges and set the operating budget and plan for the Chaska Downtown Business Alliance. The Special Service District (SSD) allows commercial property owners within a designated area to collectively assess themselves annually to create a pool of funds. These funds are reinvested into the district to provide enhances services and special amenities beyond what the City offers. The 2026 operating plan allows them to continue leveraging SSD resources to promote and revitalize the downtown area. 

The budget remains unchanged from the previous year at $58,100 which is $0.87 per $1,000 in estimated market value.

Approved Concept Plan for 0 Creek Road

The Council approved the concept plan for a 3-lot single-family subdivision at 0 Creek Road. The approval included the conditions placed at the 10/8/25 Planning Commission meeting.

Approved Concept Plan for Peavey Business Center

The Council approved the concept plan for Peavey Business Center at 4200 Peavey Road. The approval included the conditions placed at the 10/8/25 Planning Commission meeting.
