Why Volunteer with us?

Volunteering provides a way to make a positive impact on the community, socialize, learn new skills, and develop a gratitude mindset. By volunteering your time with the City of Chaska you can meet community leaders, earn volunteer hours for school or work, interact with community members, and enjoy a safe, fun environment to learn and grow as an individual.

What Volunteer opportunities does the City of Chaska offer?

The City offers multiple volunteer opportunities within the Parks and Recreation Department.  Some of these include:

  • Community Events
  • Active Older Adult (AOA), Teen, All Ages, or Adaptive Programs
  • Park Cleanup
  • Curling Center Programs and Events

Do I have to be 18 to Volunteer?

No. All ages can volunteer for the City of Chaska. If you are under 18, a parent/guardian signature will be required on the Volunteer Form. A volunteer orientation is required for all ages and will be customized for each volunteer opportunity.

Am I required to volunteer for a certain amount of time or hours?

No. You can sign up for as many or as few volunteer shifts as you want to. Your own school or organization may require volunteer hours, so volunteering with Chaska can help you earn those hours.

How do I get started?

  1. Complete the online Volunteer Application
  2. The volunteer supervisor will reach out with specific dates.
  3. Sign the Volunteer Acknowledgement Form (PDF) and return a copy to the Volunteer Recreation Supervisor (this can be done during your orientation).
