This year is filled with fun for everyone! Enjoy events with a more chill vibe? Attend a summer concert in the parks, or community bike ride. Want to bring your pets out to the park with you? Attend Bark in the Park and Pet Parade! Most events are free to attend and open to the public. This is possible due to generous sponsorships from our community partners.
Chaska Parks and Recreation offers sensory-friendly zones at events as well. These areas are usually adjacent to the action and offer fidget toys, headphones, and coloring or crafts.
Latin Music and Food Festival
Friday, September 22 | 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Fireworks, food, and fun! This event will celebrate Mexican Independence Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Latin culture. Enjoy food and drinks from local vendors including La Hermosa Mexican Restaurant and Patrons Mexican Restaurant. Enjoy Latin rhythms from the band Alma Andina and others.

Tis the season for family fun! Visit with Santa, sip on hot cocoa, savor a s’more, and create a holiday craft! Also, enjoy caroling from the Chaska High School Chamber Singers.
The tree lighting ceremony will take place from 6:00-6:15 PM. The 50-foot tree is sponsored by the Chaska 100 Club.
Earth Day Celebration

A variety of outdoor and environmental exhibitors will help us appreciate our wonderful natural world. This FREE event. All participants receive a goodie bag.
UPDATE: There will be environmental-themed activity stations, snacks, and craft. Carver County Parks will provide a disc golf toss station, and Master Gardeners will be present with information about spring and summer gardening.

Enjoy a 4-mile ride from Courthouse Lake to Athletic Park and back. There will be one water stop, along with a pit stop at Lions Park. Riders can turn around at any point if they do not wish to ride the entire route. Helmets required for all riders. Snacks, waters, and recreational activities provided after the ride. Fire and Ice Festival and Bonspiel

Eat, drink, and play the day away! Fire and Ice Festival and Bonspiel is open to the public and free to attend. Enjoy two days of live music, food and beverages (for purchase), family-friendly activities, and fireworks. The event is hosted by Chaska's Parks and Recreation Department at Firemen's Park and Chaska Curling and Event Center each summer. Bark in the Park

Event Update 7-23-23: The event will still be held outside at Firemen's Park. Temperatures will be above 90 degrees. There will be water stations available. Attend at your own risk.
The dog days of summer have arrived! Browse through pet-supply vendors and rescue resources, lead your pup through an obstacle course, or grab a bite to eat. Traveled Ground will perform, so bring your lawn chair and stay for the show.
Pet Parade (5:45-6:15 PM) - Canceled as of July 25th
The parade will start at 5:45 p.m. with the City of Chaska Parks and Recreation staff leading the way. The parade route will travel along the sidewalks from Veteran's Park to Firemen’s Park.
Parade participants may come as a “Unit, (up to 6 people)” create a float or come dressed in a favorite costume, play an instrument, decorate their bikes, or bring the family pet (on a leash or in a cage). $5 per unit (up to 6 people).
Awards and prizes will be given for the Largest Pet, the Smallest Pet, Best Costume, Best Decorated Bike and Best Overall Decoration/Unit.

Music, art, and sun! Visit Firemen's Park in Chaska to celebrate visual and performing arts from over 50 artists. The CD release from The Songwriters and Musicians of Carver County will be featured, too.

Steamboat Days 5K and Kids Fun Run

The 5K is back for Steamboat Days! Join us for our 5K run/walk and Fun Run for Kids. Want to loosen up before your workout? Join Chaska Parks and Recreation staff to hop, skip, and jump into a higher heart rate!
*Warm-up will start at 8:45 am for the 5K as well as 9:45 am for the Fun Run.
