About the Economic Development Authority (EDA)
The EDA promotes development and redevelopment that will enhance the city's small-town atmosphere.
Its responsibilities include:
- Promoting new businesses
- Retaining and redeveloping existing businesses
- Developing sites that are economically difficult to develop without public assistance
- Encouraging the development of housing in the city that is safe, diverse, and gives our citizens affordable options to own a home
- Helping restore blighted properties and downtown historic buildings through redevelopment
- Increasing the scope of services offered in the city
